The article aims to assess the relationship
between school proximity and quality education.
Apart from socioeconomic inequalities, students are also placed in

which hinders their equitable access to education. Keeping in view UNESCO's
idea of sustainable and inclusive education this paper presents the case of
Higher Secondary School, Malothi of District Doda in Jammu and Kashmir. It aims
to analyze how distance influences academic performance and educational
sustainability. By analyzing the data of hundred students of the HSS, Malothi
the paper brings out the specific challenges and barriers that students
residing in remote areas face while attempting to participate in sustainable education
practices. Some suggestions for policy changes or program adjustments based on
findings have been provided towards the end of this paper to enhance
sustainable education practices for students in Malothi regardless of their
distance from the school.
