Feminism and change in social values of Japan in 20th century

Abstract
In countries like Japan, where the values are
rooted in the heart and minds of the citizens, change and keeping pace with the
changing society is crucial. Women play an important role in shaping society
and raising the young mindset. Having such a great role in society women not
only influences society but are also influenced by the prevailing social norms
and values. In this article, the various stages of feminism that provided a
better stage to raise the concerns of women are discussed. Also the role of a
few feminists and social workers who worked hard for the betterment of women in
Japanese society.
