Abstract
India and Yemen share a long history of cultural, commercial, and diplomatic ties. The bilateral relations between the two countries are built on mutual respect, friendship, and cooperation. India has been a key partner in Yemen’s development and reconstruction efforts, especially in the fields of infrastructure, healthcare, and education. Yemen, on the other hand, has been a crucial partner in India’s energy security and maritime trade. However, the ongoing conflict in Yemen has posed significant challenges to the bilateral relations between India and Yemen. India has been closely monitoring the situation in Yemen and has been providing humanitarian assistance to the Yemeni people. India has also been working with the international community to find a peaceful resolution to the conflict. In recent years, India has been expanding its engagement with Yemen, particularly in the areas of counter-terrorism, security, and defence. India has been providing training and capacity building support to Yemeni security forces to combat the threat of terrorism and piracy in the region. India has also been working closely with Yemen on issues related to energy security, food security, and disaster management. India and Yemen have a shared interest in promoting regional stability, peace, and economic development. Despite the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict in Yemen, both countries remain committed to strengthening their bilateral relations and working towards a peaceful and prosperous future for their people.
